How to use a content calendar.

4 steps. Most of the work is the first hour. After that it runs itself.

  1. Pick where you post

Choose the networks you can keep up. 3 you do well beat 8 you drop.

  2. Set how often

Start small. You can add posts later, but a calendar you skip is no help.

  3. Fill each slot

Take the idea for each day and make the post. Batch it: film or write a week in 1 sitting.

  4. Check and adjust

After 30 days, look at what got replies and saves. Do more of that and cut the rest.

The 5 pillars.

Every idea in the calendar belongs to 1 of these. Mixing them keeps your feed from turning into 1 long ad.

Teach 1 thing

Share 1 tip, 1 how-to or 1 answer to a question people ask you. Short and useful.

Behind the scenes

Show how the work gets done. The process, the people, the messy middle.

Customer proof

A review, a result, a before and after, or a customer story.

Connect

Ask a question, run a poll, share an opinion or a story. Start a chat.

Offer

Say what you sell, what it costs or what is new, and how to get it.

How often should you post?

These are starting points, not rules. The right number is the one you can keep up for 3 months. Change it to fit your time and what your own results show.

Content calendar questions.

11 answers. Anything else: hello@mirkaat.com

01What is a social media content calendar?

It is a plan that says what you post, where, and on which day. It stops the daily "what do I post today?" panic.

02How far ahead should I plan?

30 days is a good start. It is long enough to see a pattern and short enough to change when something happens.

03Do I have to post on every network?

No. Pick the networks where your customers are and where you can keep going. Add more once the first ones feel easy.

04What are content pillars?

They are 5 or so themes you come back to, like teaching, behind the scenes and customer proof. They give you ideas on tap and keep your feed varied.

05Can I use the CSV in Google Sheets or Excel?

Yes. Download the CSV and open it in either one. In Google Sheets use File, Import. Or use "Copy as table" and paste straight in.

06Which holidays and events are shown?

Widely marked days like New Year, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Easter, Halloween, Black Friday and Christmas. Pick Global, UK or US to choose which show. Movable dates like Easter and Black Friday are worked out by rule. Dates differ by country, so check your local dates before you plan around them. They are listed for 2026 and 2027.

07Can I move a post to another day?

Yes. Drag a post to another day on a desktop. On any device, use the "Move to" menu on the post. Your moves show in the CSV, the table and the calendar file. "Reset plan" puts everything back.

08How do I add the plan to Google Calendar or Apple Calendar?

Download the .ics file. Then import it: in Google Calendar use Settings, Import and export. On Apple Calendar use File, Import. Each post becomes an event, all day or at a time you pick.

09Can I plan for more than 1 brand?

Yes. Click "Add another brand" for up to 5. Each brand has its own name, networks, posts a week and business type. Switch between brands or see all of them together. The CSV has a brand column.

10Is my plan saved?

Your settings are saved in this browser only, so they are there when you come back. Moves are not saved. Download the CSV or .ics file to keep a plan.

11Is this tool really free?

Yes. No signup, no email. The plan is made in your browser and nothing is sent to us.
